Great for every aspect of your day
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wear these headphones all day everyday. I use mostly for phone calls. I like the ambient noise feature, because you can have a conversation with someone right in front of you as well as person on phone. Also is you listen to music and have to be able to hear what's going on around you, ie: to hear if someone near you needs your attention. I travel alot, and the noise canceling is great for when you need to block out the noise of public transportation. They have held up well for the past 3 months. And I believe they will for some time. The main part of them has a pad so even without a collared shirt they are comfortable. The app for tuning has some neat settings, but mostly just if you are using just for music. These are definitely not a pair I would use to work out or run in. I talk on the phone all day and play music/videos through them for at least an hour every day, and I can go almost 2 days without a charge. I think the key to this is the setting that turns the ambient noise/noise canceling off if not in use. The charger is a standard Mico USB so no problem finding a charging cable for them. I have some trouble using them for like voice search and voice dialing. But i haven't messed with it too much. If your picky about how your cord falls, you will also be trying to line up how the cord lays in the track. I also make sure there is a loop at the top when I put them in, because I can see this being the weakest point. (See pic)

Very good sound but doesn't noise cancel very well
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the headphones. Sound quality is good. People can hear we well when on a phone call. My only complaint is other then the normal ear bud noise canceling I don't notice any noise canceling at all. Battery lasts all day at work even listening to music the whole time. I really like them just wish is cut down on the noise surrounding me.

New Sony product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I’ve been using LG Platiums for awhile and they’re great but seems they’re not selling those so Best Buy had these as a new product n no reviews were around, so far they work great lots of features, hook up easy , sound is great and once u get used to the way the wires secure to the unit (LG’s retracted) then they’re good to go, a little on the $$$ side but anything with Sony on it is, oh they seem to be well made and sturdy as well..the wires hold in a track/slot a long the top..

Soo Close
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I want to say if your looking for Sound Quality plus some amazing Noise Cancellation, these headphones are the Best! Just a few things kept me away from calling this a perfect score. Unboxing these headphones oozes premium. The box material feels great as you open up into a beautiful looking design combination of Metal and premium plastic but a little plastic. Once you get past that you get a zip up pouch which for as much as these headphones are I expected a little more but not a big issue. Getting past the box we go to performance and like I said above the sound quality is amazing on these. I tend to buy over the ear headphones because I just think the sound quality is so much better and less fatigue on how long I can listen for. These don't have that problem with sound quality being their Best feature. One issue I had was that great performance for sound takes a big hit towards battery life only giving about 10-9 hours total. The thing that did irritate me is that we have an old cable the micro usb which for this price should be usb-c no exceptions. To add on top of that charging took forever. I plugged it in when I went to watch a movie and after a little over 3 hours it was still charging..... why in a world of fast charging everything does this take so long. Last two things for me was noise cancellation, which was amazing, and Bluetooth range. When it comes to the ladder Bluetooth range is poor with even going past one wall in my house, which isn't made out of anything crazy, it would almost immediately cut out. I've had cheaper headphones keep the signal better which side note you can have the app choose connection over quality but.... why would you do that? This price deserves quality and range. Which leads me to the app that I was able to successfully pair to it once and then it would tell me it's not connected via Bluetooth which if you see the pictures I've posted on this review it clearly was. To wrap up lets finish on a positive noise cancellation. This works better than any headphones I own and I got a lot of premium competitors in my cabinet. Sony should be proud for quality of sound all around but failing at some fundamentals like connectivity. Then putting in the box to utilize this app that doesn't work that well and also wants you to try a Sony music app. It could be better. Thank you for reading my review even after everything we talked about I still highly recommend this to the people who care more about quality than anything else.

Great sound, unreal noise cancellation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are quite phenomenal in my opinion. They look good, sound great, and the noise cancellation is incredible to say the least. I had never had headphones attached to a neckband, so I was concerned I would find these annoying, but the neckband is light and cushioned, so after a few minutes, I didn't even notice it. One nice thing about the neckband is that the controls are much easier to access since they're a bit more spread out, unlike other BT earbuds I have. Sony includes extra ear tips (foam and silicon), but the ones that were already affixed were fine for me. Also, the cords don't retract, which I thought was a bit odd, but the cords aren't overly long, and they do allow you to turn your head without feeling like you're going to pull one of the ear buds out. The fixed cords aren't a big deal, and I suppose that's just one less thing that can break. I had the headphones out of the box and connected to my phone in minutes and immediately I wanted to test the noise cancellation. I have several over-the-ear headphones with noise cancellation, so I thought these would pale in comparison, but I was dead wrong; the noise cancellation on these headphones is absolutely incredible. In addition, you can install an app from Sony that allows you to customize the amount of noise cancellation along with other features such as an equalizer, and something Sony calls Ambient Sound Control, which when turned on tries to sense what you're doing and automatically adjust the noise cancellation for you (so you won't walk/jog into traffic). The only thing that might surpass the the incredible noise cancellation, is the sound from these headphones; it is superb, with deep basses and crisp highs, with every note clear and distortion free. One thing that did bug me about the headphones isn't really anything to do with the headphones themselves, but the fact that Sony decided to include a soft zippered bag for storage instead of a hard case. I really don't understand this, especially since the headphones are $300. I mean come on Sony... you're Sony... go the extra mile. Overall, these headphones are very nice; they are extremely comfortable, the sound is excellent, and the noise cancellation is unreal. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone.

Outstanding, Best Headphones I Own
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first behind-the-neck headphones I've owned. I have Bose over-ear noise cancelling headphones and countless ear buds. But I gotta say, I am totally sold on these. They are comfortable to wear and are not obtrusive at all. My Bose over-ears tend to get a bit irritating on long flights, for example. From now on, when I'm flying I will definitely be taking these instead. The sound quality is outstanding. Great at all ranges, and the bass is excellent. The build is premium, the case is cloth so not the best but acceptable, and it comes with all the wires you need plus 6 sets of extra ear buds to make sure there is the right size for you. The noise-cancelling features are awesome. According to Sony: "Industry-leading Digital Noise Cancellation reduces ambient noise, and Smart Listening technologies optimize your sound based on your activity and surroundings." All I know is this, I just finished wearing them while using my leaf blower/mulcher. I could hear a slight hum from my leaf blower which is amazing because that thing is loud as heck, yet my music sounded excellent. These headphones are truly outstanding with amazing sound clarity and outstanding noise-cancelling features. These just took over the top spot as the best headphones I've ever owned.

Q: QuestionHello, Can anyone confirm if microphones during phone calls are noise cancelling microphones ? do they cancel background and ambient noise during phone calls so the other person on the other side dont hear the background noise around you ?
Asked by Medi.
- A:Answer Yes they do to a certain extent as I am a truck driver and have a serious amount of background noise when I'm driving and the only headset that I've found to get rid of all noise is the blueparrot headsets but these do run a pretty close second as the person on the other end could hear some background noise but not enough to be distracting while talking, so I hope that helps.

Q: QuestionCan I use a power bank for WI-1000x??
Asked by Human.
- A:Answer Yes. I tried hooking them up to a power bank I have and they charged! Going on a trip soon and needed to test that as well.

Q: QuestionThese headphone are good at blocking out the sound of jet's engine while flying, but they kept shutting off. Is that because I am not playing any music or other sound? Is that the power saving feature mentioned previously?
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer The answer from the Sony rep above is misleading. I bought these ‘phones last night and downloaded the app. The “standby mode” field does not allow or prevent the headphones from turning off after five minutes if not connected to BT or a wired connection; to me it seems to do nothing. When I disconnected BT on my phone, five minutes late the ‘phones turned off regardless of the state of that setting in the app. I have a very hard time with the concept of a wireless noise canceling device that MUST be connected to continue working. As a traveling professional who frequently flies internationally, I want a noise canceling set that allows me to cancel noise but not be connected to anything else while I try to sleep. These ‘phones do not do the job. I returned the ‘phones just now. Sony won’t get my business unless they come out with a fix.

Q: QuestionDo these have volume control on the neckband and are they able to be synced with a smart tv?
Asked by Natalie.
- A:Answer Yes there is volume control on inside of left side. My TV has Bluetooth, but it's suggested to only use with Audio. As there is some latency with Bluetooth in general. These do have a low latency setting in the app, and it seems to work really well, but if you focus on people talking there lips will move ever so slightly before what you hear. This is Bluetooth in general.

Q: QuestionWhat does the B in WI1000X/B means? Is it an updated version to the WI1000X ?
Asked by Johannes.
- A:Answer Hi Johannes, The last letter of the headphones indicates the color of the headphones. WI1000X/B means color black model and the WI1000X/N means color gold model. Check this link for the specification of this headphones. https://docs.sony.com/release//SPECS/WI1000XB_mksp.pdf Regards, -David

Q: QuestionThe instructions said to charge via a booted computer. Is this the only option? Can I use a wall charger?
Asked by Cruiseship.
- A:Answer Yes, I use both my computer and an Apple wall charger to charge the headphones. There is no issue with either.
Answered by TigerY
Q: QuestionDo the ear buds retract or adjust in any way
Asked by Mp55.
- A:Answer They do NOT retract. There is a groove along the edge of each side of the neckband that you can push the cords into for storage or to reduce the amount of loose cord when wearing, but the cords aren't overly long, so I don't even bother with it when I'm wearing them.

Q: QuestionDoes the microphone cancel background noise when on a call?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer For you yes, turning on noise cancellation will kill noise around you, but only for you. The person on the other end will still hear noise around you. It is helpful if you're having problems hearing the other person over background noise though.
