Ac router good dashboard controls
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Belkin AC router and it has many features. I activated the guest WiFi and changed the password. Also updated the password on the main account. All very easy. Wish it had a stronger signal but going to change location of the router maybe that will help.

It does its job well
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router to use alongside an Arris SB6183 modem cable and they have twinned perfectly. I had to call Belkis customer service, because I couldn't configure it, but it was really very easy. The problem was bad review on my part. BTW, Belkis customer service was excellent.

A+ / The Belkin is strong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have cox ($245.00+ monthly - fast package). I had a Linksys Cisco 5 or so years old. I had bad wireless upstairs and just dealt with it for years. I saw this one on sale, read the "strong" reviews and set it up. Setup is quick, go slow, follow directions and you will receive SPEED. I am a nerd and internet speed junky. I need HD and I need speed. I used to get 20 on the Internet Speed Test on my phone when sitting next to the computer, I used to get 10 or 11 upstairs. I NOW GET 30+ UPSTAIRS AND 82 DOWNSTAIRS (tested around 6.30pm). The strength of the router is Great. The location of my router is behind 3 walls to get to the upstairs. When others stream HULU, Netflix or HBO, they just use the "media" account.... no stream problems at all.

Solid Performer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my previous wireless router with "Lifetime Warranty" went out, I called for Technical Support.. What a joke. They wanted $200 to put me back on a Support Program as they claimed the warranty was on the hardware only. For that price I could have bought five (5) new ones with ninety (90) day Support on each. So for $89 I bought this unit that was Three (3) times faster, dual band, had a guest network, and was not a hassle to set up. No Brain-er!

Good for a small home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is annoyingly tippy, but works well for relatively short distances, probably equal or better than others in its price range. I had problems with range as I wanted the useful range to extend from the family room to the bedrooms in a 2600 square foot home. The far bedroom got only one bar and spotty reception. I bought a Belkin extender, which helped, but only got two bars. I learned that extenders are a poor way to improve reception as they are very inefficient, as they lose much of the signal while amplifying the remainder. Better to use the money for the extender to buy a better router instead. Which is what I decided to do. I took them both back to the store, planning to get the next best. Then I decided not to play around - with the money from the returns, and adding about $50.00, I could get a router that was known to have more range than most. I knew that, when it comes to receiving signals, its way better to choose extra. So, I bought the Linksys WRT 1900AC. I understand Belkin now owns that company. Well, that turned out to be a good decision! We not only got full, five bars, we got five bars in the shop, which is a separate building about 100 feet away! Not to mention additional features - like being extra fast!. No more hassles and such a strong signal is well worth it. Forget buying any "extender", just get this router or another as powerful (not many are) with the money, and get far more signal to boot. I am still recommending the Belkin F9K1113-BBY for those who don't need much of a signal as I think its competitive with others in its price range, but if you think you may need an extender, forget that - use the money for a much better router and be in fat city as far as a router is concerned. One less hassle! Dave in Seattle, WA

Quick Easy Set Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was pretty much a plug and go. I connected my laptop directly to the modem and was up and running within a few minutes. I could be sitting next to my old router and not be able to connect my laptop to the wi-fi but sitting in the same location i get excellent speed and coverage. I set my son up on his own login for his ps3 and have not had any problems yet.

Works great once you get it started
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router on the recommendation of a best buy employee. He suggested that this router would be the minimum to meet my needs. I got it home, opened the box, and tried to set it up, unsuccessfully. Had a family member come to help, who is much more computer savy than me, and he could not get it to work either. The box said it came with a set up disk and a manual, neither of which were in the box. After hours of no success, I finally decided to return it, and get another one, with the hopes that it would come with the manual and set up disk. It did not. However, after an hour or so, I was finally able to get the router to talk to my modem, and finally got everything working the way it should. Apparently there was something wrong with the first one. Since then, it has worked wonderfully. Has handled multiple devices at the same time with no problems. I think it is actually a little more than I needed. Would definitely recommend it if you can get past the start up phase!

Q: QuestionWhat internet provider can I use with this? And is this WiFi a one time buy or are there monthly fees?
Asked by CheetoPuff.
- A:Answer This WiFi + router requires you to have Internet already, and it has to be wired to the Internet to work. It is not a modem, it is a router. You must have a modem already from either your Internet Provider, or one you purchased and have set up with your Internet Provider. This gives you WiFi if you do not have WiFi but do have Internet. As far as I know, it will work with any Internet provider in the USA, but you must have a modem already to connect it to, or a Modem/Router combination. If you are looking to replace your Internet Service Providers, modem, then you need a Modem or Modem/Router that will work with your ISP.

Q: QuestionHow many devices can I use at once?
Asked by Duckie.
- A:Answer Small business owner here - I'm currently rocking my DirecTV genii DVR and Sony wireless DVD on the 5 gHz "media" version of my network, while 2 laptops, 3 phones, a Canon printer and an LG and Samsung E tablet are connected on the regular 2.5 gHz network. I have people bring their laptops over to work on top of that and there's no slowdown in connection.

Q: QuestionHave just updated Mac to Sierra. My Cisco router gave out and bought Cisco Valet. Cannot connect to this operating system because requires 10.4.9 or later. OS for Sierra is 10.12. I just want to know whether this router will support Sierra.
Asked by Swiffer1234.
- A:Answer Hi, Swiffer1234. Yes, you should still be able to connect your Mac running on Sierra to your Valet. However, you can't install Linksys Connect on your Mac. For instructions on how to setup your Valet without running Linksys Connect, check out this link: http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-article?articleNum=137563
