Editor's Pick: Kids run and jump a lot, so sweatpants with an elastic waist are a great choice—easy for them to put on and take off by themselves. The fabric is soft and won't feel tight when knees bend. The two side pockets can hold small rocks, cards, and such, so there's no need to carry a bag when heading out to play. They've been washed several times and still haven't pilled.
