Editor's Pick: Water from the fridge had a bleach-like smell, and after swapping in a new filter the taste was back to normal. This filter removes impurities like lead, mercury, and asbestos, and the ice from the ice maker comes out clearer too. The official recommendation is to replace it every six months or 200 gallons; just glance at the indicator light on the fridge door to know when it's time.
