For gamers tired of RGB overload, Lian Li's design here really caught our editor's eye. As the successor to the LANCOOL 216, it's not a flashy product—it doesn't go for full tempered glass or maxed-out lighting effects. Instead, it focuses on understated elegance and cooling performance.
In terms of appearance, the standout feature this time is the addition of solid wood trim—the black version uses dark walnut, while the white version features light beech wood. The material is real wood, not a sticker.
As for specs, the LANCOOL 217 comes pre-installed with five fans out of the box. The two front 170mm fans support a CPU/GPU balanced airflow mode and can be switched with one click to prioritize CPU cooling. Combined with the top and rear fans, the overall airflow is quite ideal for an air-cooled setup.
One thing to note is that this generation of the case is the first to support back-connect motherboards and rotating PSU installation. In particular, rotating the power supply 90 degrees helps optimize hard drive placement and cable management space. Overall, as a case newly released in 2025, the price is pretty solid, especially considering that electronic peripherals have been going up in cost. From an assembly perspective, the design elements and features of this case are quite comprehensive. And with summer just around the corner, good cooling really matters!
