5.0 out of 5 stars. great jacket
Verified Buyer Reviewed by bdkz from colorado on Monday, November 7, 2016
I'm 5'7", 165-170lbs,athletic build, ordered size medium and found the jacket an exact body fit (a true medium) no room to layer. It looked good however I prefer a little more room so re-ordered a large and it gives me plenty of room for a hoody, fleece or sweater etc... . I also like the half sherpa half regular fleece lining so the jacket is not too warm and can be worn when it is not so cold . I find jackets with room to layer are more "year round" functional and I am able to decide on the right amount of insulation when I need it. Lastly the snaps on the collar for optional hood is another great feature of a jacket, one jacket becomes two when you cannot decide... hood or no hood. peace out!!

My husband loves his Carhartt jacket. Just what he needs for working outdoors. He loves it and will keep him warm when it is 30 degrees. Yes in Texas we have cold weather.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Carhartt killed my review on their site, wonder why?
Reviewed by River Birch from Virginia on Monday, October 28, 2019
Let me start by saying this was my first and last experience with carhartt. So I ordered this jacket in black and a size L regular, even though the site said my true fit was a LT being Im 6'4" but Im 155 lbs so I opted to size down and it worked in my favor. Before I get into the review I'm gonna go ahead and say that the quality of the jackets made in Mexico are made with far more quality and quality materials than the ones made in India, which is where the coat Im reviewing came from. The order came in fast, which I was really pleased with, but upon initial inspection of the coat I immediately seen 3 big white stitches on the black corduroy collar, you could see em plain as day clear across the room. The cuffs around the wrist (not the ribbed cuff) had more than several frays on it like it had already been worn. Basically every feature on this jacket had loose threads and stitching, from the collar to the cuffs to the inner pockets and all along the backsise seams of the zippers. I wouldn't even expect the jacket to get like that if it was heavily used, let alone before it was even used. Just really poor craftsmanship, even felt cheap. Everything but the quality of the jacket I was sent was great, the look, the size, the movement, the comfort and warmth, just not the quality, which is the most important thing to me. The beginning of the return process was pretty frustrating as well, they didnt even know what I was returning after 4 or 5 emails, in which I gave the item information multiple times and was very detailed in my initial email. Was also disappointed with the lack of willingness from upper management to do their best to correct the situation and ship me another jacket, specifically one made in Mexico due to the better quality in virtually every area of the garment, but they were more than happy to send me another one from India..... shipped it back and am waiting for them to inspect the garment and let me know whether it's defective to their standards or not, would be really alarming if it isn't, but then again someone had to inspect it before they sent it out, so either someone is just sending out any old thing or they aren't even doing quality inspections before they charge someone $100+ for an inferior product. With that being said I'm not sure I really trust their judgement of what defective is. I always thought and was told Carhartt was a good quality company that stood behind their product, now I know better.

I bought this for my son, and he is happy with it. He is 6'4", and the sleeves on this jacket are an adequate length.
