Editor's Pick: Make avocado toast in the morning or slice half for a salad—this medium size is just right for one use, so you won't be left with half turning brown. The flesh is creamy, and when perfectly ripe it mashes into a smooth spread for bread. Grown in Mexico or California—just let it soften for a couple of days after bringing it home and it's ready to eat.
