: Let's not even talk about insurance. How much does it cost to replace the battery at 100k to 150k miles + electricity costs? Will that be less than the fuel and oil change costs for a gas car running 100k to 150k miles? Plus tire replacement costs. How much can Tesla really save? Has anyone calculated it? 先不说保险吧，10到15万mile换电池多少钱+电费会不会小于油车跑10到15万mile的邮费加机油费。再加上轮胎更换费用。tesla能节省多少。有人算过没。
回复 @Lawliet : My friends thought the same way at first, but now they've all bought Teslas and love them! If you can install a home charger, it's perfect. But if you have to rely on public charging daily, maybe don't get an EV. Superchargers are mainly for travelers. Most importantly, Teslas aren't cheap—their base price could buy 1-2 affordable Japanese cars. People obsessed with saving money should reconsider. 我身边的朋友当初也是这么想的，现在乖乖的都买了，真香！如果家里可以装充电器最香，如果每天都得去边充充电 那还是别买电车了，超级充电站压根是为了给旅途中的人用的！最最最重要的事 特斯拉车子本身就不便宜 ，一天到晚把省钱挂在嘴边的人 还是别考虑了 ，因为特斯拉的普通车价就可以买1-2部便宜的日系车
回复 @胖开 : So, in my personal understanding, if you really calculate it, EV costs will definitely be lower. But within an acceptable range, which is why I still prefer gas cars. Because of the charging process and having to find charging stations in other places, gas cars are incomparable to EVs in that regard. EVs are more cost-effective for commuting or operating as taxis. 所以按我个人理解，真要换算下来，电车费用确定会低一些。但是在可接受范围，所以我还是油车，因为充电过程以及去其他地方还要找充电站，这方面油车电车没得比。电车还是上下班通勤或者跑跑出租车划算

回复 @Justbecause_ : Filled out the form, you can see, but surely not every car qualifies for the $8,000 trade-in? It's probably similar to KBB. If you can get a 1.99% low-interest loan, then why bother deducting, get as much as you can loan. 填表了，是能看到，但绝对不是什么车都抵8000吧？估计其实和KBB差不多。既然能1.99%低息贷款，那还抵个屁，能多贷就多贷啊。

回复 @leejieun : If you’re thinking about secondhand, I’d suggest getting one with HW4.0, or something under $25,000 so you can get the $4,000 tax credit, if your income qualifies. 二手的话建议买hw4.0的型号，或者买25000块钱以下的享受一下4000的tax credit假设你收入符合的话

回复 @丁真 : Checked IRS closing, it only states one used car a year, and the old terms apply, like needing to owe taxes, no refunds, new car $7,500 isn't even mentioned, basically, if your income meets the requirement, it's fine. I think the requirements for the used car $4,000 might be stricter, and in practice, it's not an immediate deduction; an authorized dealer fills out a form to notify the IRS. 看irs关网，只说二手一年一辆，而且二手那个还是和以前一样的说法，要欠税啦，不能refund啦，新车7500不提了基本实践是收入满足需求就行了，我觉得二手4000要求会更严一点，实践的时候应该也不是立减，而是有执照的dealer填表通知irs的

. The only uncertain factor is that it's priced based on monthly scores; the first month defaults to above 90, maybe that's why it's so low for the first month? 回复 @匿名用户 : Even though Toyotas are said to have low fault rates, I've also seen many Toyotas with broken front axle joints, both locally and on the highway. Plus, you have to pay extra when buying a Toyota. It's not just the RAV4; anything with a markup is off-putting. And the prices for used Toyotas are inexplicably high. I'd rather choose a Honda and switch in a few years; it's more cost-effective than a Toyota. 虽然但是，虽然说Toyota车故障率低，但也不是这么说，我也看到过很多Toyota车前轮轴之间断了，local 或者 highway都见到过。然后买Toyota还得加价。所以不止是rav4，但凡加价的就很反感。而且卖二手Toyota的那些价格迷之自信。还我还不如选Honda然后过个几年再换不比Toyota划算。
