Editor's Pick: For a one-day weekend hike or a short camping trip, the 40L capacity is just right for a change of clothes, a water bladder, and some snacks. The fabric is water-resistant polyester, and there's even a rain cover tucked into the bottom of the bag, so you won't panic if it suddenly rains in the mountains. The shoulder straps and back panel both have mesh breathable padding, so your shoulders won't feel stuffy and uncomfortable the whole way. When not in use, it folds entirely into its own pocket and tucks into a corner of your closet without taking up space.
