Editor's Pick: The XR8B from June Prime Day and the current XR8C are both refined versions based on the original XR8 (BRAVIA 8). Specifically, the XR8 features XR Contrast Booster 15 (dynamic contrast enhancement) and XR Triluminos Pro to further extend the dynamic range in extremely bright and dark scenes. However, major professional media and experts all recommend turning off the dynamic contrast feature. Sony, upon hearing this, decisively removed the dynamic contrast enhancement from the XR8B and XR8C, and also removed the free viewing benefits (including 5 new movie redemption credits and 12 months of unlimited classic movie streaming). If you don't care about the above refinements (reductions), the XR8C, which retains the original XR8's core OLED panel and XR Cognitive Processor, is a great value at a much lower price.
