Editor's Pick: Around Halloween, kids tend to be both curious and scared about concepts like darkness and monsters. This book places "facing your fears" within the autumn holiday atmosphere, with the main character October guiding little ones through the experience. It's not scary to read — it's actually a bit heartwarming. The illustrations feature the tones of autumn leaves and pumpkin lanterns, making it perfect as a bedtime parent-child read. After finishing, you can even chat with your child about what they're afraid of.
