Editor's Pick: If you're renting and can't modify the plumbing, this no-installation unit sits right on your kitchen counter and is ready to use. It assembles in minutes and filters water by gravity, so it still dispenses water during a power outage. The body is stainless steel, and the inlet structure is designed to reduce residual water, so stale water doesn't easily build up. The filter can process about 200 gallons, enough for daily drinking and cooking for a household of three to four, and it's also great to bring along for camping or emergency preparedness.
