: With bone conduction headphones, people within a 1-2m radius in the pool can hear what you're listening to, which is utterly mortifying. For swimming, I recommend the Sony WS410 series, which comes with 4GB of storage and also features waterproof earplugs. Compared to the previous generation (W273), it updated the waterproof ear tips, so it can still be used even if it's not worn tightly or accidentally gets water in. Previously, if the W273 got water in, you basically couldn't hear anything and could only use it again next time you swam. I started using the W273 around 2010, and after it broke, Sony kindly replaced it with a WS410, which I've been using ever since. Unfortunately, it's not updated anymore, 4GB isn't quite enough, and the battery is aging, requiring a charge before every swim. I want to replace it but haven't found any competing products.
