Following the Technic Land Rover Defender 42110, which launched in October 2019 and has since been retired, LEGO has once again partnered with Land Rover. This time, they bring us the classic version of the Defender from the ICONS collection. When built, it measures 6.3 inches (16 cm) high × 6.3 inches (16 cm) deep × 12.6 inches (32 cm) long (a size down from the 42110, which measures 8.7 inches (22 cm) high × 7.9 inches (20 cm) deep × 16.5 inches (42 cm) long). The 42110 was modeled after the 2020 vehicle, while the design of this 10317 is a faithful reinterpretation of the original 1983 model, featuring a sand green body, white roof, black wheel arches, and a brown interior. This immersive project lets LEGO enthusiasts and car fans create, customize, and display their own collector vehicle. This ICONS piece features front-wheel steering and a suspension system—features often found in Technic builds—greatly enhancing playability and challenging builders' skills.
