Editor's Pick: Kids who want to play with clay but you worry about messing up the table—this pottery wheel can be used right on the tabletop. The 6-inch metal turntable has a textured surface, so the clay won't easily slip while you shape it. Speed and direction are both adjustable—start slow to practice, then speed up once you're comfortable. The kit comes with a full set of tools, from soft clay to coloring, so they can finish a whole project and sit quietly for an entire afternoon.
