Editor's Pick: For at-home arm and shoulder workouts, a pair of 25-lb dumbbells is usually sufficient. The hex shape keeps them from rolling on the floor, so you can set them down after a set without worrying about them rolling into your feet. The rubber-coated exterior provides a non-slip grip, so even if you're sweaty from deadlifts or curls, you'll still hold on tight. For beginners starting strength training at home, starting with fixed-weight dumbbells like these is more straightforward than jumping straight to adjustable ones—you can always upgrade once you build up your strength.
