Editor's Pick: If you want to try pottery at home without piecing together tools one by one, this kit lets you get started right out of the box. The foot pedal controls the speed, adjustable from 0 to 160 RPM, so even beginners can center clay without feeling flustered. The 2.2-pound air-dry clay doesn't need a kiln — just shape it and let it dry, then paint it with the included colors. Spend a weekend making little bowls and flower pots with your kids; it's way more fun than scrolling on a screen. The wheel surface is stainless steel, and the tray catches any splattered clay, so cleanup is a breeze.
