Editor's Pick: Whether it slips off a top bunk in the dorm or gets dropped on concrete from your backpack, the corner airbags on this case absorb the impact first — it's been drop-tested from 3.9 feet (1.2 meters). Detach the keyboard and it becomes a pure protective shell; attach it and you can type like on a laptop. The trackpad supports all kinds of gestures, so you don't have to keep reaching for the screen when researching or writing papers. The hinge adjusts to an almost flat angle, making drawing and note-taking effortless. One charge lasts for weeks, so you don't have to worry about outlets when you take it to class.
