"Spy x Family" is set in a fictional world where two nations, Westalis and Ostania, are locked in a prolonged Cold War. To maintain peace, both countries secretly deploy spies for espionage activities.
Westalis spy "Twilight" is assigned a mission called "Operation Strix," which requires him to create a fake family and get close to a target. To complete the mission, Twilight recruits a killer codenamed "Thorn Princess," Yor Forger, and a telepathic orphan, Anya Forger.
Thus, a temporary family made up of a spy, an assassin, and a psychic is born. How will they complete their mission and maintain world peace without revealing their true identities?

Twilight
Twilight is a top-tier spy from Westalis, codenamed "Twilight." He possesses exceptional espionage skills and sharp instincts, allowing him to flawlessly complete any mission. However, he is also a lonely man who longs for a family. To carry out "Operation Strix," he disguises himself as psychiatrist Loid Forger and adopts Anya.
Yor Forger
Yor is an assassin codenamed "Thorn Princess," with outstanding combat skills and agility. To help Twilight with his mission, she poses as his wife, Yor Forger. Although she appears cold on the surface, Yor is kind-hearted and deeply cares for Anya.
Anya Forger
Anya is an orphan with telepathic abilities. After being adopted by Twilight, she becomes a member of the Forger family. Anya is cheerful, mischievous, and often causes funny situations. Yet, she is also a very smart and sensitive child who can sense others' emotions.
Bond Forger
Anya Forger picks up a stray dog in Episode 15 of the anime, naming him "Bond." He is a large dog of unknown breed with a keen sense of smell and hearing, able to detect human emotions. In Episode 16, Bond identifies Twilight as a spy through scent and initially shows hostility. However, over the following episodes, Bond gradually bonds with Twilight and Anya, becoming a member of the Forger family.
