Editor's Pick: Opening packages, cutting cardboard, trimming carpet—having one of these knives at home comes in handy. The handle stores five spare blades inside, so when one gets dull, just pull one out and swap it in—no need to hunt around for a blade box. The zinc alloy body has a nice heft in your hand, and the blade slider glides smoothly without jamming. Once the blade lock is engaged, it won't easily retract even when cutting tough cardboard, and retracting the blade into the handle before storing it in a drawer keeps things safer.
