: The AirPods 4 are noticeably larger than the 1st and 2nd generation, making them significantly less friendly for small ear canals compared to the 1st and 2nd gen. The 1st and 2nd gen are very comfortable to wear, while the 4th gen is clearly not as comfortable. Moreover, the sound quality of the 4th gen is not as clear and crisp as the 1st and 2nd gen. It seems the bass has been emphasized, causing the sound to become muddy and giving an uncomfortable booming sensation.
