: I looked at the reviews for that faucet freeze protection cover, and they're quite high. I really don't understand why it's useful. No matter how well it's wrapped, heat still dissipates from the pipe itself. At most, it just delays the freezing time, making it freeze later than the pipe. And it also prevents external freezing of the faucet. 看了看那个水龙头防冻裂评价还挺高的，很不理解为啥有用，包的再好热量是从水管本身散出去的，最多延迟一点结冰时间，比水管后结冰而已，另外防止水龙头外部结冰。
: I think so too. Basically, if there's a water shut-off valve inside the house, you can close the valve and then open the outside faucet to drain the water from the pipe. That generally prevents frozen or burst faucets. 我也这么觉得，基本上屋里有一个水阀门，关了阀门在开启外面的水龙头，放掉管里的水就基本不会有冻坏水龙头的情况。

: Keep a small trickle of water flowing, and periodically open the faucet fully to check if the flow has decreased. If there's a decreasing trend, leave it running a bit longer. Once it freezes solid and no water comes out, everyone should buy this small heater and direct it at any walls that might be frozen. Especially since some pipes run along exterior walls, and places like TX and NM often build houses without considering -10℃ conditions, everyone needs to pay even more attention. These days, a burst pipe can cost hundreds of dollars, just like money evaporating. Spending a little on water, electricity, and gas is worth it. 保持小小水流滴答，隔断时间就开大了看看是不是有减小，有减小的趋势就多留一会。一旦冻死了不出水，各位买这个小型取暖器，对着可能冻住的墙面烘烤。尤其是有些管道是走的外墙壁，再加上TX NM 这些地方常年建房不考虑-10℃的情况，大家更得注意。这年头爆管就几百刀蒸发，花点水电气不亏。
