: >For those of us in the north who like to keep things simple, I recommend peonies and dahlias~ Peonies should be planted in spring, but they won’t bloom the first year—you have to let them establish their roots. Dahlias are really easy to grow and will bloom beautifully, but you do have to dig up the tubers in winter or they’ll freeze and die. For roses, just pay a little attention to maintenance and pruning. If you live somewhere with strong winter winds, you’ll need to wrap them up.</c17083246>So pretty! Are the three photos peonies, dahlias, and roses respectively? I’m totally clueless and can’t tell the difference at all
</c17083627>They’re rose, dahlia, and peony~
</c17083664>Peonies look so much like tree peonies! It seems like both types you’re growing are kind of hard to take care of
</c17084166>The leaves and stems of peonies and tree peonies are a bit different—the flowers just look similar. The varieties I have are actually really easy to grow; I got them from Costco, super simple~</c17085634>Do all these varieties bloom in this season?</c17087311>Did you buy them in-store? They look so beautiful.

: I've tried planting blueberries, perilla, and tulips, but without exception, they were all eaten by animals. I've lost motivation now
: I'll wait until I have my own garden before buying them.

: For lazy gardeners in the north, I recommend peonies and dahlias~ Peonies planted in spring won't bloom in the first year as they need to establish roots. Dahlias are fantastic—they bloom abundantly and are easy to care for, but you'll need to dig up the tubers in winter or the roots will freeze. Roses require a bit more attention with pruning and care, and in windy winter areas, they need to be wrapped up.
回复 @匿名用户 : It's really cold where I am, and if dahlia roots aren't frost-resistant, I think they freeze below zero. So it's best to dig them up, but sometimes I'm too lazy, so I just buy new ones every year [Laugh Cry] because dahlias are very easy to grow, and rabbits don't eat them, so I like them a lot~ 我这边很冷,如果大丽花的根是不耐寒的,理论上零下好像就会被冻死。

: I've had my osmanthus planted for a year, and it's the same size now as it was a year ago
. I even want to dig it up.

回复 @LV的一条鱼 : Hahaha, birds are truly uncontrollable. We used to have a fig tree at home, and it felt like we were racing against the 🐦 when the fruits were almost ripe!![[笑哭]](/assets/emoji/comment-emoji/dm_xiaoku@2x.png?v=1)
哈哈哈 鸟真的控制不住,以前家里有无花果树,感觉果子快熟的时候就是在和🐦拼速度!![[笑哭]](/assets/emoji/comment-emoji/dm_xiaoku@2x.png?v=1)
回复 @匿名用户 : The government here requires us to control irrigation water, so the jujubes are sweet but not very juicy. Every time they ripen, many are eaten by birds 🙃 我这里政府要我们控制灌溉水量,枣子甜但水份不多。
