"Black Myth: Zhong Kui" Releases 15-Minute Gameplay Demo
It has been exactly one year since the reveal of "Black Myth: Zhong Kui" at last year's Gamescom. As per tradition, aside from the occasional holiday fun content, Game Science gives the player community a more serious "progress update" every August 20th. This time, they've gone ahead and presented a full 15-minute gameplay demo. The video description clearly states: "Recorded from a development build, with the runtime aspect ratio set to 21:9. As the product is still in early development, the final release content may differ."
Since this title is in a very early stage of development, it's quite normal for them to reuse assets like sound effects from "Black Myth: Wukong." In the first half of the video, aside from the cinematic sequences, an early operation UI, the protagonist's movements, and basic combat are showcased in a test map. The middle section features a complete boss fight, demonstrating mechanics such as summoning and possession. The latter part is a classic montage set to music to build atmosphere, featuring a variety of ghosts and monsters in different forms, with the very end revealing Zhong Kui himself. According to producer Feng Ji's reply on Weibo, he is still considering Zhong Kui's role in the game.
You won't be able to play it anytime soon, so you might want to check out some other domestic titles for now~
