As FromSoftware's first multiplayer Souls-like RPG, "Nightreign" is designed around three-player teams, but for players who prefer the lone wolf approach, Solo mode still offers an incredibly rewarding experience.

Even better, after the 1.01.1 patch update, the difficulty of single-player mode has been significantly reduced, increasing our chances of completing the game solo.

undefined
  • Here are the current features of single-player mode:

1. Enemy health is approximately 43% of three-player mode, with slightly slower attack patterns and reduced aggro when surrounded.

2. Night Dewdrop mechanic: Auto-revive × 2 times, increased error tolerance (newly added in 1.01.1).

3. Enhanced Rune drops (updated in 1.01.1): Gain more experience when defeating enemies.

4. Higher rare artifact drop rates: More gold artifacts in rewards after Day 3 bosses, and increased probability of purchasing rare items like "Scenario Primogems" from the merchant's market.

  • Recommended Solo Classes

1. Iron Eye

Ability: Sharp Observation

Through excellent observation skills, can find more items on enemies.

Skill: Mark

Use special weapons to damage enemies, creating weak points.

Ultimate: Piercing Arrow

Fire a supersonic, unstoppable powerful arrow.

undefined

Brief review: Stable ranged combat with simple but highly effective skills. The basic skill "Mark" not only deals additional damage but also comes with a short-distance dodge and brief invincibility frames. The ultimate skill has wide coverage, long range, and strong impact force, reliably interrupting most Boss opening moves, making it a powerful tool for handling high-pressure situations. Perfect for "playing it safe" when unfamiliar with Boss mechanics.

2. Rogue

Ability: Competitive Spirit

Skills are enhanced after taking damage. While using skills, you absolutely cannot be knocked down even when attacked.

Skill: Counter

Assume a purple flame stance, then deliver powerful strikes.

Ultimate: Totem Tombstone

Plunge the gravekeeping chisel into the ground, summoning a giant tombstone.

undefined

Brief review: The most aggressive powerhouse character in the current version, simple to operate yet extremely efficient. The only designated choice for strength-build players. The basic skill has super high poise and stagger capabilities, with enough impact force to interrupt most Boss opening moves. During skill activation, you're immune to control effects and knockdowns, making it the perfect counter to high-pressure combat techniques or close-range Boss pressure. The ultimate skill increases attack for the entire team while creating a safe space for damage output, making it a no-brainer choice for both solo and multiplayer.

3. Executioner

Ability: Indomitable

Gain a vitality effect when recovering from abnormal status effects.

Skill: Demon Blade

Draw the demon blade, parrying attacks to nullify enemy strikes.

Ultimate: Crucible Beast of Many Faces

Transform into the shape of a Crucible Beast, bringing a completely new combat style.

undefined

Brief review: A close-combat character focused on parrying and countering, perfect for players who enjoy rhythmic control and high-risk, high-reward gameplay. The core mechanic is perfect parrying followed by counterattacks, dealing high stagger damage plus brief hard control. Against Boss combo attacks, you can perform the ultimate technique of "tanking through combos and instantly counter-attacking." The skill has low error tolerance, but successful parries are extremely satisfying and controlling. The ultimate skill transforms you into an ancient beast form, significantly increasing attack range and impact force, ideal for breaking boss rhythm and offering some survival capability. Recommended for Sekiro players.

Ideal Three-Day Route

Day 1|Quick Main City Growth Phase (Lv3~5)

The core objective is simple: reach the main city early (especially Forge or Exile), to save time and boost development

Upon landing, immediately scan the map for church locations. If there's a church, collect flasks along the way; if not, ignore them (1 flask is enough, 2 is a bonus, focus mainly on map progression)

Start by clearing the initial camp to around Lv2, then immediately head toward the church/soul eagle roost to expand your route, clearing simple outposts along the way for grease and bombs

If the map is favorable, clear the mine/sealed prison or two camps, then after reaching level 3, go straight for the main city outskirts Boss or sewers without lingering

Don't take detours; if you can't clear something, leave it. Your main city objectives are clear: defeat the Boss + collect major talismans + level up at bonfires

🚩Some maps spawn Soul Hunters or Jar Giants - don't recklessly engage. You can use solo distraction tactics for giants, or kill from strong positions before advancing

📍By the end of the first night, clearing about 70% of the main city should get you to Lv7~9, depending on whether you find golden chicken talons or kill mini-bosses for extra runes

Day 2|Enhancement Burst Phase (Lv9~13)

Regardless of how many resource points you cleared on the first day, you must accelerate your pace on day two

Recommended route focuses on: Upper Main City / Church Cleanup / Terror Elites / Special Terrain (optional, areas that will be in the circle shrink can be cleared later)

If you need +2/+3 smithing stones, consider returning to the mine; prioritize weapon upgrades before skills and passive Relics

Any uncollected Chalice Churches can be picked up if the circle shrink allows - an extra flask is a bonus, but don't force it

Avoid wasting time fighting enemy clusters in the center of the map. Keep your objectives clear: quick leveling → elite enemies → rare relics/passives → preparation → Night 2 Boss

🚩When fighting bosses during the day, pay attention to elemental weaknesses (lightning for Maris, fire for Gnoster)

In the new version, merchants have a chance to sell Scenario Primogems/Gold Relics on Day 2 - buy them immediately when spotted

Day 3|Final Victory Day (Lv13~15)

Clear the last few resource points before the circle shrinks, such as camps near blessing points / partially cleared main city towers / churches / edge elite enemies

Before entering the Boss arena, be sure to stock up on consumables (cooked crab, grease, bombs) + max out your weapon + reach the final level

Remember not to waste extra runes - buy a full set of consumables from the merchant + trigger gold coin relics

The third night Boss isn't difficult, but mistakes are easy to make. Master dewdrop usage & Boss elemental weaknesses, and remember to bring "interrupting skills" or high stagger skills

🎯 The key to optimizing your pace is entering the main city early on Day 1, enhancing your full loadout on Day 2, and exploiting Boss weaknesses on Day 3 to create rhythm breaks for a final victory

The new 1.01.1 version provides automatic revival + higher drops + improved relic quality. The faster you progress, the greater your advantage becomes, creating a snowball effect
