: The main reasons I buy it are, first, the brand hype gives it recognition, second, the workmanship and design are pretty decent, and third, their customer service is good. I wear The North Face too—the price is more affordable, though there's still a brand premium sometimes. The Beta series only has the Beta LT (the men's version is no longer available on the official site, but REI still has some) using the old coating.
