Editor's Pick: The ceramic material has a nice weight to it, so it won't slide around on your desk while you're mixing colors. The smooth surface keeps paint from beading up into droplets—it spreads easily along your brush tip, and a quick wipe with a paper towel cleans it right up. With 18 deep wells plus a large central mixing area, it's more than enough for watercolor or gouache, and it won't tip over easily when you take it outdoors for sketching.
