回复 @匿名用户 : I saw in Geekerwan's research that the root cause of the CPU degradation seems to be prolonged high-voltage operation. Intel is partly to blame, but even Intel themselves were reportedly clueless... Intel's aggressive-from-the-factory frequencies are not inherently problematic; Intel wants CPUs with poorer silicon quality to also run at their rated frequencies, so they set the voltage-frequency curve relatively conservatively, uniformly basing it on the poorer chips. This means giving unnecessarily high voltage to CPUs with normal quality, which is actually a normal practice. Intel also added various restrictions to prevent prolonged high voltage. However, motherboard manufacturers removed Intel's restrictions in pursuit of benchmark scores, and that's where it became dangerous, though CPU degradation would still generally be unlikely to occur. Finally, Microsoft gave a 'divine assist': the Windows power management's high-performance policy has a bug, defaulting to running at max frequency even at idle. This means as long as the machine is on, it's always at high voltage—even with the mouse on the desktop doing nothing, it's high voltage... So after about a year of use, there's a significant chance of CPU degradation. These last two generations of Intel CPUs are indeed not great, but this CPU degradation issue was likely unforeseen by anyone initially, as without the 'assists' from motherboard manufacturers and Microsoft, normal use for ten years wouldn't accumulate enough high-voltage operating time to cause degradation... 我看极客湾的研究，好像说是缩缸的根本原因是长时间高电压运行，英特尔有锅，但英特尔自己也是一脸懵逼……英特尔出场频率激进，本身没问题；英特尔要让体制差的CPU也能运行在其额定频率下，所以把电压频率曲线设的比较保守，统一按体质差的来设定，也就是给体质正常的CPU不必要的高压，这其实也是正常做法，英特尔也加了各种限制，不会出现长时间高电压；主板厂商为追求跑分，去除了英特尔的限制，从这开始就危险了，但缩缸也基本上不太会出现；最后微软神助攻，windows 电源管理高性能策略有bug ，默认一直跑最高频，空载也是保持最高频，也就是只要开着机就是一直高压，鼠标放桌面啥都不干就是高压……于是用个一年就有显著概率缩缸了……英特尔这俩代CPU的确不咋样，但缩缸这事儿可能当初谁也想不到，毕竟没有主板厂商和微软的助攻，正常用十年也攒不够足够的高电压运行时间导致缩缸……

If it's only a 10% drop, it's not a big deal. 据我所知绝大部分普通人能遇到的缩缸的性能损失远小于10%……缩缸的意思是你的CPU受尽摧残体质下降了，在主板BIOS设置的电压下无法稳定的跑在主板BIOS设定的频率下了，于是你的电脑就报错了……比如，你CPU还是新的的时候，主板设置是单核给1.47伏时跑6.0GHz，你CPU轻松稳定没问题……你用主板默认设置加windows bug高性能电源策略，摧残一年后，你的CPU在1.47伏电压下没法稳定的跑到6.0GHz了，于是在遇到这种工况时就可能报错，也就是缩缸了……你更新BIOS或者自己设置，设置比如最高给1.42伏跑5.8GHz，你缩缸后的CPU照样轻松稳定的服务你……你只损失极小的性能，其他照用不误……更何况你现在买新主板，里面用最新的BIOS，本来就能预防缩缸，或者你不开windows 高性能电源策略，用平衡策略，也不会缩缸……
