Editor's Pick: Looking for something hands-on for the kids? These break-open geodes are just the thing. 25 Moroccan geodes sized between 1 and 1.5 inches (2.5 and 3.8 cm)—just crack them open with a hammer to reveal the crystals inside. About 90% are hollow with crystals, and occasionally you'll get a solid quartz or calcite. The kit includes educational explanations and instructions, so you can talk through the geology while you break them open—learning while playing. They also make great little gifts to hand out at birthday parties.
