Editor's Pick: Kids stare at a map trying to memorize country names, and after a few they run off. This puzzle turns rivers, deserts, and lakes into shaped pieces, plus there are 3D mountains and volcanoes you can plug in. Once assembled, it becomes a nearly 3-foot (about 1-meter) 3D terrain model. The double-sided mat has a political map on one side and a physical map on the other, so you can flip it over and see exactly which countries the Sahara stretches across. The included booklet is packed with fun facts, so you can ask questions as you build, way more fun than just memorizing a textbook.
