Whether it's a physical SIM or eSIM (which is essentially a built-in chip on the motherboard), each has a unique network registration ID. When you switch to eSIM, the carrier binds your info to the eSIM's ID, rendering the physical SIM useless. Also, using a Visible physical SIM in an iPad is risky—heavy data usage on a tablet may trigger detection and service termination. If you want unlimited Visible data without draining your phone's battery or dealing with hotspot throttling, one workaround is to get a Netgear mobile hotspot router. There’s software online to spoof the hotspot’s ID to mimic a phone, so Visible will think you’re using a phone even if you’re on a hotspot.
