[Expired]《Black myth: wukong》new Update

Black Myth: Wukong released update version 1.0.20.21756 for PS5 players yesterday, with updates for other platforms coming soon.

The patch takes up approximately 93.5GB on PS5, and yes, you read that correctly—it's nearly the size of the entire game. The developers explained that this is due to significant underlying changes and differences in how the PS platform stores files. However, this is an overwrite update, so after updating, the game will still be just under 110GB in size, so no need to worry about that. The developers also suggest that if you can't complete the update, you can either delete and redownload the game, or simply continue playing without updating.

When the game launched in August last year, its performance on PS5 was honestly just average—for specific issues, you can refer to Digital Foundry's video. At launch, the performance mode had noticeable input lag issues, while the quality mode had lower frame rates. Although it wasn't completely unplayable, the experience was significantly inferior compared to the PC version.

To be honest, when I first saw the size of this update, I was shocked and thought the development team had quietly added major playable content, similar to the previous sequential battle update. After reading the announcement, though, I quickly calmed down. This update mainly focuses on: optimizing the battle experience with "Demon King Stone General"; improving performance on PC and PS5; adding Czech language support; and fixing various issues.

In the major update at the end of 2024, input response time in Performance Priority mode and the frame rate stability and visual clarity in Balanced and Quality Priority modes had already been optimized. This update keeps the old modes while adding a new performance mode that further reduces input lag, lowers lighting quality, and delivers native 60Hz—similar to the Xbox version's visual processing approach.

I think this is the right direction. Having a stable 60Hz mode is very important for an action game that requires controlling a high-performance character, which will benefit players who want to experience this game on the PlayStation platform in the future.
