: If your window is big enough, get the U-shaped one; it's quieter. If the window is small, you can only get this 5k-6k type. My house is old, and built-in units are difficult to install and remove, plus they're not cheap. So I installed one of these window-mounted units in each room. I've bought both U-shaped and these 5k-6k types, and they've been pretty good for several years! 窗户够大就买U型的，比较静音，窗口小的就只能买5k-6k这种了。我家房子旧，内嵌式的拆装都麻烦，价格不便宜，所以我就每个房间装了一个这种窗式的，U型和这种5k-6k的都有买，用了几年了，挺好！

This type of window AC usually includes it; you can check the photos in the reviews—everyone has it. : If your window is the right size, and it's a double-hung style, I recommend getting the Midea U-shaped AC. It's really quiet, plus you can control it with your phone. 回复 @心中有你 : For vertically opening windows, just place it on the window, then clamp it top and bottom, and seal the side gaps. You can remove it when it gets cold. If you don't mind the heating cost, you don't have to remove it, as you might lose heat otherwise... 要上下开的窗户，放窗户上就行，然后上下卡住，密封好旁边的缝隙就行，天冷了再拆了。不差钱的可以不拆，因为怕漏暖气……
回复 @匿名用户 : For vertically opening windows, you just slide them up. If it's a single-panel window or screen, just remove it directly. Either way, the window with the AC installed won't be opened! 上下开的推上去就行了，整个的就直接拆了就行，反正装了空调的那个窗户不会打开来了的！
