FUJIFILM Corporation officially announced today that their beloved instax™ instant camera "Evo series" welcomes a new flagship member—the hybrid instant camera "instax mini Evo Cinema™" (hereafter referred to as mini Evo Cinema). This new model, which combines video recording, vintage filters, and photo printing capabilities, will be released first in Japan on January 30, 2026.

The design concept of this camera is "One camera, decades of possibilities," aiming to provide users with a "time travel" photography experience through unique light and shadow effects at their fingertips.

Key features: Video memories you can "deliver"

 

As a digital-analog hybrid instant camera, the instax mini Evo Cinema™'s breakthrough lies in its deep exploration of video functionality. Users can not only capture still photos through the LCD screen on the back but also record short videos up to 15 seconds long.

Video printing function: Recorded videos can be generated as instax™ film prints with QR codes. This isn't just a photo, but a video gift that can be "delivered."

Scan and watch instantly: The recipient of the photo only needs to scan the QR code on the film with their phone to play back the wonderful video and even download it to share on social media. This feature transforms precious memories from static to vibrant and tangible.

 

First-ever "Eras Dial™": Time travel at your fingertips

 

To create the ultimate cinematic feel, the mini Evo Cinema debuts the new "Eras Dial™". This feature goes beyond ordinary color filters, recreating the visual and auditory qualities of different eras comprehensively.

10 era effects: From nostalgic styles paying homage to 1960s 8mm film cameras, to simulated 1970s color CRT television vintage noise, to modern smartphone filter styles, it includes a total of 10 different era imaging effects.

Versatile combinations: Each effect has 10 levels of intensity adjustment, creating up to 100 unique visual expressions.

Immersive sound effects: The camera plays corresponding simulated sound effects (such as film rolling sounds) during shooting based on the selected "era," making users feel as if they're truly in that time period.

Tribute to classic design and "3-in-1" experience

 

In terms of form design, the mini Evo Cinema pays homage to Fujifilm's classic 8mm movie camera "FUJICA Single-8" launched in 1965. It features a unique vertical handle design, complemented by a high-quality dial and a print lever that simulates film winding, providing users with a highly ceremonial analog operating experience.

Additionally, paired with a dedicated mobile app, this camera also offers powerful extended functions:

Video editing: Splice multiple video clips within the app and add cinematic opening and closing templates.

 

Mobile printing: Features a "direct print" function, serving as both a camera and a stylish mobile photo printer.

 

Poster mode: Offers various poster templates that give your photos the impact of movie promotional posters.
