Apple Foldable iPhone Ultra Rendering Video Leaks

According to IT Home News on August 5, YouTube channel fpt. recently shared a new concept video of Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Ultra. Positioned at the very high end, the device is expected to officially launch in fall 2026.

📏 Design & Thickness Control

The iPhone Ultra adopts a horizontal book-style inward folding design. Thanks to the titanium body, its thinnest point when unfolded is only about 4.5 mm. Although it measures approximately 9.5 mm when folded — slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro Max — the engineering design significantly enhances durability.

⚙️ Display & Biometrics

The device features a 7.8-inch OLED inner display (120Hz) and a 5.5-inch outer screen. To optimize internal space, Apple has removed Face ID and instead adopted a Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. The side of the device also features a new Camera Control button.

The new device will be deeply integrated with iOS 27 (editor's note: the original system version number may contain a typo), supporting an exclusive "split-screen multitasking" feature that allows cross-app drag-and-drop and multi-window parallel operation. Additionally, the camera system features a 48MP main sensor paired with a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

📅 Availability

The iPhone Ultra is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in fall 2026. Launch colors include black/gray, white/silver, and a new Dark Indigo finish. The standard iPhone 18 may be delayed until spring 2027.
