[Expired]iOS 26 Major Update: CarPlay Parking Mode Now Supports Video Playback

Requires Authorization and Release from the Automaker

On February 10, 2026, Apple released iOS 26. After prohibiting video playback for ten years, Apple has officially unlocked CarPlay's parked video functionality. When the vehicle is stationary, users can project iPhone videos to the central control screen via in-car AirPlay.

🔹 Safety Restriction: Only available when parked/not driving

Implementation Requirements: This feature is not a universal upgrade. Apple clearly states that besides requiring app developers to complete compatibility updates, authorization from car manufacturers is mandatory. Currently, no mainstream car manufacturers have publicly committed to supporting this protocol, presenting challenges for widespread adoption in the short term.

: The quality of the in-car screen is far inferior to that of a smartphone or tablet. Unless it's a very luxurious car with excellent sound effects, you can have a decent experience.
