The Cheesecake Factory may not welcome you if you are not a 'PERFECT' English speaker!
The manager of the Cheesecake Factory at Mayfair mall, Wauwatosa states in front of my face that he has hard time to understand me due to my "strong" accent. This happened at 4:30 ish, Saturday, Jan 20th, 2024.
I went there to purchase cheesecakes. My account supposed to have a free cheesecake reward for my visiting in December 2023. The person at the counter told me that there is no reward under my account. I asked her why this could happen for the salesperson told me there is one under my account last December; "Is it possible that last person may make mistakes when she took my phone number". The person in front of the counter did not know the answer and ask her manager to help.
I explained what happened to the manager and he suggested to contact the reward department online and find solutions. I accept the suggestions and request them to help me checkout for that day. Everything was fine so far.
However, the manager stated that he had hard time to understand me at very end after I accepted his suggestions. I asked him which parts he could not understand. He emphasized that he could not understand me for I have strong accent and speak fast. I was absolutely offended by the words. When I further asked him point out which word I have accent, he said he forgot it. There were so many guests there when we were talking. I don't want to believe that the Cheesecake Factory is only willing to provide service to "PERFECT" English speakers! But the fact did not agree with this. It is so frustrated with the manager in the Cheesecake Factory. I filed a complaint on their website right away when I got home. But there has not been any update so far. I will provide updates when I got response. It is so said we are still experiencing discriminations at 2024!
