Editor's Pick: If you live in an area with hard water or often notice an odd smell in your shower water, this filter is worth trying. It installs between your water pipe and shower head without needing to remove the shower head itself — just press to swap in a new filter cartridge, so even the least handy person can manage it. The filter uses a combination of calcium sulfite, coconut shell carbon, and KDF. The water flows through a U-shaped path, allowing longer contact with the filtering media for more effective removal of chlorine and sulfides. The water does feel noticeably softer, and that damp, chlorinated smell in the bathroom fades. The unit is compact and won't sag much from an overhead shower head, so your shower space won't feel cramped.
