Netflix's exclusive Extended Look finally dropped a ton of brand-new gameplay footage, with the entire demo running about 26 minutes, all captured on PS5. Rockstar isn't holding back this time—from dual-protagonist gameplay, gunfights, and car chases to city exploration and a variety of leisure activities, they packed in a ton of new content.
Jason and Lucia make their debut as a duo, and their interactions are far richer than what we've seen before. Beyond pulling off heists together, the two share plenty of everyday life moments—coming home, eating, drinking, watching TV, cruising around in the car, and even petting a dog together. The game clearly isn't just about the two "shooting side by side"; their relationship and daily lives are woven into the world itself.
Players can switch between Jason and Lucia, and the two can even coordinate during the same mission—one drives while the other shoots, or you can swap characters mid-mission to handle different situations. Earlier reveals also showed that they can work together as a team or go off and do their own thing.
Combat has seen a clear upgrade too. Gunfights are still the core of GTA, but the movement feels much closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Max Payne 3—character movement, rolling, taking cover, and weapon handling all feel more natural. In the gameplay, you can even pick up weapons directly from the ground, making combat noticeably more fluid than in previous entries.
This demo also showed a more stealthy approach to breaking into vehicles, letting players use tools to handle cars quietly instead of smashing windows and drawing attention. Combined with the upgraded police tracking system, figuring out how to escape after a crime is now part of the gameplay.
And the most impressive part this time? The sheer density of the city.
The streets, shops, nightclubs, indoor spaces, and NPC activity in Leonida are far richer than ever before. It's no longer just "pedestrians + cars" on a loop—random events and different types of activities pop up all over. Police will track you based on your actions and may even remember your character's appearance, clothing, and other details, so you can't just switch cars after a crime and pretend nothing happened like in the old days.
Beyond heists, gunfights, and street racing, this demo also showed off a ton of "goof-off activities":
Diving, boating, rally racing, e-scooters, working out, skydiving, basketball, nightclubs, dancing... there's even in-game TV and social media content. In other words, even if you never rush the main story, just wandering around Leonida could keep you busy for a long, long time.
Nightlife is another big highlight of this demo. The nightclubs in Vice City aren't just "look-and-leave" scenes—you can actually drink, dance, and take part in the action, and some indoor locations even become part of missions. With tons of enterable buildings and more detailed interiors, this open world finally feels alive.
And the craziest part? This isn't just PS5 gameplay capture—character skin, hair, clothing, vehicles, city lighting, and interior details have all been pushed to a whole new level, with water effects, night scenes, and crowd density being especially striking. Rockstar itself is calling this the biggest and most immersive evolution in the series to date.
