工卡延期/更新（等待绿卡期间）

前言

USCIS官网规定：在工卡/combo卡到期最多180天前，可以提交工卡/combo卡的延期申请（如下图）。

我的combo卡是2020年12月过期，所以最早可以在6月份提交申请（不过我在7月初寄出延期申请）。而且我一开始提交的Combo卡申请，是和临绿申请（Adjustment of Status）一起提交，所以第一次申请以及延期申请都不需要再交费用。

准备材料/表格

工卡/EAD

1. Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
2. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
3. Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt notice of pending I-485（即有显示临绿申请费用的信件）
4. Copy of my current I-766 (Employment Authorization Document) that expires within 180 days（即Combo卡双面复印件）
5. Copy of I-797, Notice of Action, approval notice of current I-766 (Employment Authorization Document)（即通知工卡/EAD卡通过的信件）

回乡卡/AP

1. Form I-131, Application for Travel Document
2. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
3. Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt notice of pending I-485（即有显示临绿申请费用的信件）
4. Copy of my current I-766 (Employment Authorization Document) that also "Serves as I-512 Advance Parole." The card expires within 180 days.（即Combo卡双面复印件）
5. Copy of I-797, Notice of Action, approval notice of current I-766 (Employment Authorization Document)（即通知回乡卡/AP卡通过的信件）

765表和131表当然是要重新填写、签名和打印。工卡和回乡卡的表格，（765表和131表）以及各自的电子通知表（1145表）都请在USCIS官网下载。其实就是和一开始申请Combo卡要填写的表格一样。只不过在765表格填写时，两个地方要注意一下，如下图显示：

邮寄地址

因为我是等待绿卡期间申请combo卡，所以类别属于C09，邮寄地址USCIS官网上也有所说明，如下图：要通过USPS邮寄，就选PO Box那个地址，Fedex/UPS/DHL就选另外一个地址邮寄。

最后，保险起见可以加入两个表格的Cover letter。我把我的两封Cover letter模板列出来，大家可以根据自己的实际情况修改。

I filed the I-485 on 申请日期, and paid a one-time filing fee. Therefore, as an Adjustment of Status applicant, I am not required to pay additional USCIS fees for this I-765 extension request.

I am enclosing the following documents in support of my application for Employment Authorization:

2. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
