Tim Cook's color psychology might be evolving once again. Recently, according to leaker @MajinBu, Apple is testing several new color options for the iPhone 17 Pro series. Among them, a new color called Sky Blue is considered one of the most likely candidates to make an appearance.

According to rumors, this Sky Blue is not a revival of the Sierra Blue from iPhone 13 Pro, nor does it follow the gradient color approach found in Android devices. Based on the leaked images from MajinBu, it appears to be a clear, bright cool tone inspired by early spring skies. Some leaks suggest that its brightness and texture might be more impressive than the previous Sierra Blue. Supply chain sources have even indicated that it shares similarities with the Sky Blue version of this year's new M4 MacBook Air.

In recent years, the iPhone Pro series has featured a limited-time signature color each year: from Sierra Blue to Deep Purple, and then to Desert Titanium. Each generation's color seems to hint at a style trend. If the Sky Blue rumor is true, it might indicate that Apple is attempting to create visual consistency across different product lines, first launching on MacBook and then synchronizing with iPhone, creating a sense of ecosystem cohesion.

Of course, whether the final appearance will be identical to the MacBook remains to be seen, as no actual device images have leaked yet. We'll have to wait for the official launch event to see the real thing.

According to leaks, several iPhone 17 Pro prototypes have already completed color testing, with the Sky Blue version reportedly showing particularly impressive results. Rumors suggest that the manufacturing process might involve a new anodizing treatment to enhance brightness, with careful calibration of the contrast between the glass and titanium frame.

However, it's important to note that Apple often adjusts its color schemes close to the release date, so whether the Sky Blue option will make it to the final product remains uncertain~
