It wasn't too long ago when Porsche was the aspirational dream for the nouveau riche and the last bastion of fossil fuel devotees. But in today's ever-changing electric vehicle landscape, just as "PorscheMi" (Xiaomi SU7) was establishing itself on the streets, Xiaomi has unveiled its new champion—the "FerrariMi" YU7, directly targeting the pinnacle of luxury electric SUVs.

Who would have thought Xiaomi is no longer satisfied with just competing with Porsche and now aims to leap straight to Ferrari's level! While we can joke about it, if they're really offering a car with performance and design comparable to the Ferrari Purosangue for just $35,000-$46,000, then SHUT UP and TAKE MY MONEY! According to information revealed by CEO Lei Jun at the launch event, the YU7 will be released in three versions:
- Single-motor rear-wheel drive: Maximum power 235kW, 0-60 mph acceleration in 5.88 seconds, top speed of 149 mph.
- Dual-motor all-wheel drive Pro: Combined power 365kW, 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.27 seconds.
- High-performance Max: Combined power 508kW (approximately 691 horsepower), 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.23 seconds, top speed of 157 mph.
The rear-wheel drive version is equipped with a 96.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a CLTC range of 519 miles. The Pro version has a range of 478 miles, while the Max version features a 101.7kWh ternary lithium battery with a range of 472 miles. All models support an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, allowing a 15-minute charge to provide up to 385 miles of range. All three configurations are equipped with Xiaomi's V6s Plus super motor, utilizing segmented magnets and voltage overmodulation technology, upgraded power modules, and optimized topology search algorithms, with a maximum rotation speed of 22,000rpm.
PS: Speaking of design similarities, many people actually think Ferrari copied Toyota (pictured ⬆️ is the Ferrari Purosangue, ⬇️ is the Toyota Crown Sport). However, as expected from Ferrari, most people consider this more a case of "great minds think alike" rather than copying.

: Are you sure this isn't a DBX's rear end?

: Will Xiaomi ever impulsively launch a new car called Rolls-Royce-Mi?
: I want to buy a Lamborghini now.
: Looks-only product 样子货
: Not even for sale, yet they go as far as converting the price to USD—that's the most ridiculous part, as if they're afraid people won't realize this is just propaganda everywhere
. What's the point? Can't even solve the most basic issues in car manufacturing, then pile on a bunch of flashy features and call it the "new era of car-making"?
: What's the point of just talking big? Go back to China and try driving some domestically-made cars priced around 200k yuan before you speak. The truth is, many of these cars, equipped with Huawei's intelligent driving, easily outperform Tesla with FSD. Is it really that hard to go back and try them out?
DCBuyCoolBean : Hahahaha, Huawei
, if you have more to say, go ahead and say it.
: Why post it if it's not even available in North America?
: Just bought a CR-V 3.7, top trim, heading out. 刚买的车crv3.7出门,高配
: Is it on sale, or is it still a fixed price of 3.7?
回复 @TROYLEW : Originally it was 4.2, but I haggled the price down.
: Traffic accidents are rampant in Mainland China.
: Are you talking about the flower bed killer?
: I thought it was sold in the US
: I thought I entered North America. Pfft, what am I doing here?
: Not even worth a dime compared to Tesla.
: I'm willing to offer $40,000.
回复 @dexteray : The infotainment system in traditional fuel vehicles emphasizes stability. However, Xiaomi's central screen has been experiencing issues like unresponsive volume control, touchscreen failures, black screens requiring restarts, etc. Just like MIUI, it's plagued by constant minor bugs that can only be fixed through OTA updates. Is this really acceptable?
回复 @匿名用户 : Yeah, think about it, what OTA updates do traditional gas cars have? When buying this car, I never expected much from its autonomous driving or those random features. Feel free to check out the latest autonomous driving review from Dongchedi. For real autonomous driving, Tesla is still the one to beat.
: It can't even get into North America. What's the point of posting this
? Don't post next time.
: The Xiaomi phone geeks from back then are all grown up and buying cars now.
: Back then, not everyone could afford them either, since the starting price was around 250K, and the insurance premiums weren't cheap either.
: All this talk—where can I buy it?
: China’s EV sector is unmatched. So proud.
: Do you know why Chinese automakers can casually manufacture electric vehicles? It's because Tesla has opened up its patents and blueprints.
Foison : Looks like someone with inside information.
: Saw a Purosangue with a "NOT MI" license plate two days ago—driven by a Chinese girl :). 前天看见5号一个Purosangue后面license plate showing "NOT MI"。
: Should be called FAKE MI 应该叫法克米FAKE MI
: Should be called MISU7 应该叫 MISU7
: Will it launch in the U.S.?
: The news just reported that some Xiaomi car's brake pads caught fire. Does it think it's Nezha or something?
Comes with a free Qiankun Ring too, huh?
(Translation notes:
1. "什么米的" is rendered as "Xiaomi" with contextual inference, as the news refers to Xiaomi's electric car brake fire incident.
2. Nezha and Qiankun Ring (mythological references) are directly transliterated with capitalization as proper nouns.
3. Humor preserved with "
" (meme marker) and rhetorical question structure.
4. "哈哈" converted to
emoji for equivalent informal tone.)
